How will I benefit from therapy?

Therapy can also help with many other types of complaints that are maladaptive such as; depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, stress management, body image issues and general life transitions.
Do I really need therapy? I am strong enough to handle my problems.
We all go through challenges in our life. At times, it can be very helpful to seek support when we are faced with road blocks. It is always helpful to seek out additional support when need it. In fact, therapy is for those who have enough self-awareness and strength to realize that they need a helping hand or an additional tool to help them guide through. Therapy can provide you with long lasting benefits and support, giving you the appropriate skills and you need to avoid negative feelings or triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and to help you to overcome the challenges that you are faced with.

Therapy can provide you with support, problem solving skills, and enhance coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, unresolved childhood issues. Interpersonal relationships, family discord, marital issues, personal growth and long with the difficulties of daily life. Therapist can provide a new perspective on you problems and guide you to the right direction or solution etc. Develop skills fir improving your relationships. Learning new ways to cope with stress and anxiety, managing emotions, changing old or negative patterns and developing new ones. Improving your self-esteem and confidence. Attaining a better understanding of yourself.
What is therapy like?
When you participate in Client centered/person centered therapy, feminist narrative therapy, or motivational enhancement therapy, the most important treatment goal is to empower you! Can’t a medication address the issues for my emotional needs?
Medication can be an effective tool in the management of mental and emotional difficulties. However, rarely does medication alone solve the underlying cause of these difficulties. Instead of just treating the symptoms, therapy can address the root cause of your distress and behavior patterns.
How private or confidential is therapy?
Therapy is confidential, but with some exceptions. In general, everything between you and I will be completely confidential, and protected by the law. Information cannot be disclosed without your written permission. Exceptions include, as I am required to breach confidentiality:
• Suspected child abuse or dependent or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
• If you are threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
• If you intend to harm yourself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring your safety. If you do not cooperate, I will need to take further measures without your permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure your safety.
